Koa desk clock

Desk clock made from a highly figured piece of koa. Koa is native to Hawaii, and this particular piece of wood came from a furniture shop. The stand is shedua (from Africa), a piece also recovered from a furniture shop. 

The clock face is made from reclaimed copper. A patina has been applied to the copper, incorporating aspen leaves collected in the Methow Valley.

The clock includes a battery powered (AA) mechanism accurate to +/- 2 minutes/year. The clock mechanism provider recommends Energizer or Duracell brand batteries only.

Entire piece is about 10" tall x 6" wide.
