Stumped

Turned vessel from a walnut tree killed in one of the many wildfires that have swept through our area in recent years. The artist retained some of the burned natural edge of the tree, enhancing the surface with interference paints to evoke a sense of lichens and mosses growing on the outer perimeter. A solid, bold piece evoking the power of nature, and reminding us that even in the wake of fires, beauty can be found.
