Black Cherry Salad Bowl
Regular price
$350.00
The wood for this piece came from a tree on the edge of Winthrop, WA, killed during an unusual early season cold snap. I had to look it up because I thought the landowner was pulling my leg, but the cherry varietal is indeed a "black republican."
This is an unusually large bowl for hardwoods grown in this region. The grain speaks for itself--absolutely beautiful. The exterior of the bowl is decorated with milk paint, an extremely durable and all natural paint. The painted area looks and feels a bit like pottery, setting up an interesting contrast between the finished wood and the painted area.
This vessel is intended for food service, or could simply be a display piece to set off a table.
14-1/2" x 3-3/4".
