About

The Winthrop Gallery is located on the boardwalk in downtown Winthrop, Washington in the heart of the Methow Valley. The Methow Valley is a year-round tourist destination. A wide variety of visitors come into the gallery from all regions of the Pacific Northwest, British Columbia, and beyond. The valley is rural, with four-season, outdoor recreation opportunities that draw visitors from around the world. The Methow Valley is also a place that attracts artists to live and work here.

The Winthrop Gallery is an artists’ cooperative. Member artists do all the work of displaying and selling the artwork. When you visit the gallery, an artist will be there to show you around (if you want) and tell you about the artwork and our artists.

Gallery members present a diverse array of artwork including acrylic painting, basketry, drawing, encaustic painting, fine furniture, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, oil painting, paper and book art, pastels, photography, pottery, textiles, watercolors, and woodworking.

The original art in the Winthrop Gallery responds to the seasons and the activities of residents and visitors alike. We believe that the original art on display in the gallery adds value to the lives of those who live here and those who visit.

Winthrop Gallery artists help preserve the specific setting of the Methow Valley and encourage people to love this place.
