Water Birch Bowl

Water birch grows along water courses in the Methow Valley and it is one of only a few native hardwoods in the area. Interestingly, in the upper valley, it intergrades with paper birch, and many trees show features of both species. This particular piece of wood came from that zone of intermixing. Water birch readily spalts, and this piece shows that beautiful black line spalt that adds visual interest. 7-7/8" x 2-3/4".
