Carl Sussman

My work explores the moods of the landscape rather than simply its appearance.  I’m drawn to those fleeting moments when light transforms an ordinary scene into something quietly extraordinary—the first light of morning, the stillness of twilight, or the muted harmony of an overcast day.  I strive to create contemplative, peaceful compositions that are faithful to the character of the Methow while expressing the emotional resonance of the place.
